LINGAYEN---The celebration of the 434th Agew na Pangasinan founding anniversary on April 5 promises to be more exciting and grander with the Parada na Dayew: Grand Cultural Parade taking 40 floats and 22 street dance contingents from cities and municipalities of the province along the main streets of Lingayen.
This year’s float-design and street dance competitions which are among the main attractions of Agew na Pangasinan will wow the audience, and the large number of spectators who are expected to crowd the streets will take a glimpse of the colorful and artistic floats march past the main thoroughfares and watch the street dancers as they display their best dance execution to the accompaniment of percussive beats.
The floats’ theme designed by the participating local government units and some from the private sector will showcase the livelihood, lifestyle, or culture and tradition of the city and municipality they will represent while the street dancers will reflect the culture, festival or history of the town they embody.
The Parada na Dayew is expected to showcase the participants’ distinct culture and history, convergence of festivals and the coming together of street dancing contingents from all over the province.
Parada na Dayew Committee Chair Janette C. Asis said that the provincial government is happy to note that this year’s celebration gathered a larger participation from 42 out of the 48 cities and municipalities of Pangasinan.
The parade which will start at 2:00pm from the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center Complex will pass through Alvear St. – Artacho St. – Lingayen Plaza – Maramba Boulevard and to the Capitol Beach Front at the Baywalk area for the street dance performance.
